Lecture: Idea Generation Workshop

Last Wednesday Mr. Charles asked us to bring mahjong paper and taught us another way of brainstorming.
Mr Charles played a few music and all of us will start to draw. We can draw whatever we want. Song Da din't come that day.. so there was 4 of us in a group. So each of us have a corner to draw. we divide the 4 corners equally and we gather our weapons(markers) at the centre of the paper so that all of us can  share the weapons and magic wands..

so this is what we came out with

This is from Zue & Aina's view

This is from Aliff and my view.

after that Mr.Charles is explaining to us that in the picture we can find somethings in common in what we draw. Its like MAGIC!!!
so Mr.Charles gave us an assignment to come out with a story for our picture.

so we try and look into the picture and we found a few common things in all our drawings.
-mostly scenes
-nature (trees, caves, mountain, clouds)
-water (waves, water droplets, rain)
-look from high grounds
-eyes
-waves (sound waves and water waves)

then we start to make a story out of it.
First we thought of a person experience the walk of life. because there is "eyes" in the picture.

then we develop the idea..
and finally

.
.
..
...
WE
CAME
OUT WITH
THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to add one thing, even though we listen to music and draw. But after Mr. Charles stop the music
we felt really tired! It feels like we really squeeze the brain juice to draw all these :O so unbelievable!

unbelievable? Believe it.. (Ripley's)

CTS 002 :: Scratch it!

So since we had a tutorial with Mr Charles last Thursday at Starbucks, we pointed out our completion (of the previous music video we attempted on) of the assignment - of course, admitting our careless selves of not proposing our finalized ideas to Mr Charles, we are asked to preferably redo the whole music video. A totally new one, starting from scratch. From scratch? Yeah, back to square one.

On the other hand we did show Mr Charles our original ideas and the music video itself! He liked the idea of it, but honest comments were: it didn't showcase the metaphor behind the bra itself, it was more of like a clear story to the metaphor, not being portrayed as the metaphor.

Mr Charles watching our previous music video!
Anywho, since we couldn't proceed on the discussion of our next music video instantly, we discussed on Skype (Wooooooooooop! Yes, that sound you hear when you sign in to it) and got a few developed ideas of what our music video would mainly be about, based on ideas Mr Charles had given us.

Aliff's solid version of our ideas while Skyping
My solid version of our ideas while Skyping
Basically they're just the same ideas understood from different point of views (in which Aliff, of course, was greater in detail, mine's more of the surface since I was busy sipping on my mint tea during the idea elaboration). We sent the images above to Mr Charles via e-mail for him to give us the green light and thumbs up. Hope we could start on it as soon as possible!
