Challenge Code :: CTS 001 (02)

Boy oh boy did we have a big mind-blowing brainstorming session yesterday. At the beginning of the discussion (in which we had all, except Songda, agreed to meet in order to finalize our work), we had difficulties trying to come up with a conclusion to how and what exactly our new utopia would look be like.

While we were all cracking our heads trying to come up with a total new world, Aliff came up with : Plants. Therefore from there onwards, Aina and Rosey started to pitch in their ten cents of ideas. I joined in, and after a while the continuation of ideas were awfully remarkable! It was almost as if we were splashed with a big tin of colourful paint, or sprinkled with creativity dust by some fully-right-brained-tinkerbell-looking sprite who might have been hovering around us at that particular moment.. Or maybe not, since that just sounds pretty creepy.

Our Developments

Hello There!!!
So i assume Zue(Zuliana) has given you the seed of our challenge on our previous post. Now it's your turn to sow it out. But before you do, here's what i have in stores:

Knowledge is Power
So here lies the creation of Foundaception.Credits to Aina, Zuliana and Rosey.
Fiction Vs. Reality
From here Song Da came up with the idea of branching the two interpretations. So i said Why not?
The Three Blind mice
We came up with how the civilization blindly followed religion..or in this case Scientology.
Yeah...
From here we developed the idea of Peer Pressure(credits to Lisa from L.E.A.D.S) which are all about people trying to fit in their society or environment.
The Social Circle
So we came up with the idea based from the the short story 'The Lottery' by Shirley Jackson as our guide and reference.
WHAT DO YOU THINK????????

We had a lot of thinking to go through...spent the night there just to decipher the code Mr. Charles has
set us up with...felt like those C.S.I series.Group of police officers trying to figure crime scenes when in fact it was all the time there.
Our Metaphodeas
Anyways, we got through it and started on our 3D Metaphoric Ideas. So here's our ideas:
Zue....Watcha doin'??? :P
1. Play dough: Different colors represents different P.O.V's, People, Status.Like a variety of Life.
2.Doors/Windows: Opportunities, Possibilities. As a saying goes ''One door closes another window opens''.
3.A Drop in the Ocean: Imagine your a drop of water, your an individual, unique, odd etc. but when you fall into the ocean  your just the same as others.Another idea was colored drop, where the color represents the knowledge you carry and as you enter the basin your knowledge spreads wide(Influencing others). We also spoke about how the liquidity takes the shape of any container, how they adapt to their environment(Adaptability).
Brainstorming
In conclusion, we developed the idea of making a new fiction where our little water molecules has their own world.just like osmosis jones, our own utopia. If you like to find out more on this, be sure to stay tuned cuz we've got more from where it came from.
This is so Medusa...just sayin'
Hoping to see this come through nice and easy..you'll be hearing more from the rest, as they got tons of stories and experiences to spit out.so keep and eye on them..they're very mysterious people..hehehe

I'm Aliff,Tribe leader Signing off. Ciao!

ATTENTION EVERYBODY! OUR FIRST EVER CHALLENGE HAS COMMENCED!

Well hello! We've been given our first challenge by Mr. Charles (yay for progress in our previously-boring-yet-exciting-post-spm-slash-IGSCE-lives!).

Yes. Our instructions have been.. Sketch-noted above by Mr. Charles. Apparently we are to create a total new metaphorical world based on books: Foundation or I-Robot, either one, both by Isaac Asimov. Hmm. Who exactly is this Isaac Asimov? What are the messages that he is trying to convey through these two books which he had successfully (and quite mind blowing, I must say) written?

Well safe to say, we had taken consideration to which book to choose (honestly we bluntly picked just one of it), ending up with the preference to Foundation than to I-Robot. Since we had chosen Foundation, let's take a quick look at what it's mainly about! (Do be prepared to read very random things as the way I try to understand and elaborate might be totally out of your railway of understanding things).

Foundation tells the story of a group of scientists who seek to preserve knowledge as the civilizations around them begin to regress -

Now, obviously as any smart tech-friendly student would do, we mainly referred to Wikipedia as a skeletal reference to the book's whole main story. With luck on our side though, Aina managed to grab hold of the book itself (Thanks to Aina's dad for keeping it safe throughout his years of living after actually purchasing it!).

Basically it tells the story of a super-duper smart mathematician -who we shall refer to (in this particular post) as Honky Ponkey, obviously, since it sounds fancier and more catchy than the real name itself (Hari Seldon, to be exact, meh, too sciencey). Apparently he came up with a theory that the Galactic Empire he was happily living in, will come to collapse in 500 years and being the genius that he was, he had expressed his prediction to the empire's Committee of Public Safety about it. I mean come on, imagine being part of well-developed empire, hearing such an impossible thing occurance?

Wait, all that aside, how was he able to predict this unbelievable news? Yes, as a mathematician and psychologist, he developed Psychohistory, which is the study that connects the possibilities in a big society to maths: hence, being able to predict the future.

Ooo pretty cool! (Photo Source)
Back to the main story. Honky Ponkey claimed that with the creation of the compendium of human knowledge: the Encyclopedia Galactica (or in this case of explaination, we shall fancily refer to it as Cycopododo since it sounds cuter and catchier), the time length of the fall would be prolonged to a millenium instead. Wowzors can you imagine that!

As said in Wikipedia as well, with the committee being skeptical about it, they had exiled him to a remote world called Terminus (along with his supporters of course) in order for smarty pants Honky Ponkey and the whole team itself to embark on his journey to complete the Cycopododo.

Long story short, with the combination of all five chapters, we had come up with a few main points which we had later discussed about in our group discussion session.

Initially, this was what we had interpreted out of the book. To twist this post around though, our imagination had led us to a totally new level and well, perhaps, exceeding the level of total over-exaggeration. We had discussed our points briefly with Mr. Charles and had gotten a clear (of course not, it was rather foggy for my brain to still see at that point of time) view of what we were to actually see out of the novel.

Hmm.. It took us quite a while to actually understand it fully, but hey whaddya know, we actually came up with a big clear picture of what he might be trying to tell us! I will, leave that matter to be told in the next post though. It could be from moii, or it might be coming from any of us from other colored plates. For the meantime though, let's leave you thinking of what it could be :3

Signing off,
Zuliana
(Hm.. I'm probably a fully eaten sushi today since my brain is totally busted out from all the research and development!)
